Evening: Psalm 148, 150; Revelation 21:1-4, 22:1-5

1971, I loved John Lennon’s: “Imagine there’s no heaven, it’s easy if
you try, no hell below us, above us only sky. Imagine all the people,
living for today … You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one;
maybe some day you’ll join us, and the world will live as one.” Why do
millions still love this? Perhaps it’s because religion does not reflect
faithfully our deeply held dream of a world living as one? If the old
ideas of ‘heaven’ have become disagreeable to you, despair not; a new
heaven is in view.
