Evening: Psalm 19, 46; John 3:16-21
Good
and evil, light and darkness, obedience and disobedience, faithfulness
and betrayal are the powerful themes of all great literature, including
the Bible. How do we make sense of them? We seek satisfaction in
‘idols’ (wealth, status, power). Darkness attracts us as well as
light. We pursue things we know will harm us. We seem to love the
boundary between good and evil. There, we feel alive; could that be it?
… But doesn’t God inhabit that boundary too? So a Sabbath day with God
could be far more exciting than we ever imagined!
